The Texas Horned Lizard is a type of horned lizard found in areas of south western America. When these lizards feel threatened, they puff up their bodies to inflate spiny scales that will make it hard for the predator to swallow the lizard. The lizard can also shoot blood out of the corners of its eyes. The blood of the lizard has such a bad taste caused by a chemical that specificially tastes bad to coyotes and wolves (one of it's main predator). The purpose of this feature of the lizard is to keep the predator from eating it with the knowledge that the lizard tastes bad.
