The Egyptian Giant Solpugid, or Camel Spider, is a six inch long arachnid native to the deserts of northern Africa. A voracious predator, the Camel Spider boasts massive chelicerae (fangs) which are perfectly adapted for dismantling its unlucky prey, then bathing them in acidic digestive fluids for easy consumption. In some species, these mandibles comprise more than a third of the arachnid's entire body length. As if that wasn't bad enough, the Camel Spider's powerful legs allow it to cruise over the desert sands at 10mph.
