Adaptation

Polar bears are very interesting animals. The way that they survive in such a cold and barren climate is due to their fur and hunting techniques. Polar bears have a thick coat of hollow, clear fur covering their whole body. This provides a warming layer, and gives them extra grip on their feet. The white fur acts as a camouflage, and they have black skin under their fur to absorb heat from the sun. Polar bears also have large, webbed paws to allow them to swim quicker. This enables them to catch faster game such as seals, that they need to eat to survive.
