The puffer fish is a slow moving organism, and because of this it has an adaptation that allows it to protect itself in dangerous situations. The puffer fish has the ability to suck water or air into its stomach and grow to almost three times its normal size in order to scare off predators. The puffer fish is also poisonous and so its inflation serves as a warning to other animals. These two adaptations allow the puffer fish to survive longer and have the chance to reproduce.
