This snake mimic hawkmoth caterpillar is able to disguise itself as a snake so it doesn't get eaten by its predators. When this caterpillar might be threaten it can pull its legs and head in and expand the front part of its body. The underside of the caterpillar looks like a snakes head. They are found in gardens on weeds and in gravel. They often feed on parts of plants and nibble throughout the day. This will often feed on the pollen.
